The managing partner and founder, Fuzet Farid, lends her 22 years of experience in Malaysian legal practice to the Firm. Fuzet graduated from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, Downing College, in the Law Tripos. She was called to the Bar of England & Wales at Middle Temple Inn, the Malaysian Bar and the Singapore Bar.
She has also obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Carriage of Goods By Sea, Admiralty and International Trade from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
She has advised the Malaysian government in various capacities including as maritime law consultant on the National Ocean Policy, and the drafting of a new Civil Aviation Bill under the Chicago Convention on aircraft domestic registration. Fuzet is assisted by her associates.

Jiradevi Veerasiman is a qualified Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. Jira’s practice areas cover corporate banking, Islamic finance, debt capital market, project finance, ship finance, shipping, offshore oil & gas and maritime law. She has experience in handling a wide range of financing exercises and conducting legal due diligence framework in relation to debt capital market exercises involving oil and gas companies and large Malaysian conglomerates.
Since joining FUZET, she has widened her experience focusing on shipping and maritime practices and have assisted in various matters in corporate shipping involving charterparties, memoranda of agreement for vessel sale and purchase, ship mortgages and long-term contract of affreightment.
Jira graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B (Hons) from University of Malaya. She commenced pupillage and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 2013. She practiced at a major Kuala Lumpur firm before joining FUZET in April 2017 and became a partner of the firm since January 2021.
Our Firm has experience in London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) arbitrations and ad-hoc international arbitrations. We acted as Malaysian counsel for TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd, the biggest charterer of coal shipments in the Asia Pacific region, and subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad, the former electricity board of Malaysia, in 3 LMAA arbitrations.
